Today, the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of St. Josephine Bakhita.
Born in Sudan in 1869, she was kidnapped at age 7 and sold into slavery. Later brought to Italy, she encountered the Catholic faith and chose to stay with the Canossian Sisters, becoming a nun in 1893.
Despite her painful past, she never harbored resentment, saying: “If I met my captors, I would kiss their hands, for they led me to Christ.” ❤️
🕊️ St. Josephine Bakhita, pray for us!
