In the first match of the Women's Premier League, the former champions Royal Challengers Bangalore achieved a record victory over Gujarat Giants. Bengaluru won the match by 6 wickets on Friday night. Bengaluru chased down the target of 202 runs presented by Gujarat with only 4 wickets left before 9 balls. This is the first time any team in the Women's Premier League has successfully pursued such a huge target. Richa Ghosh scored 64 runs not out for Bengaluru. She hit 7 fours and 4 sixes in just 27 balls. Kanika Ahuja supported him till the end by scoring 30 runs in 13 balls. Ellyse Perry also played a half-century innings. She scored 57 runs in 34 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. Raghavi Bista contributed 25 runs. For Gujarat, captain Ashley Gardner took 2 wickets and Diandra Dottin and Saili Satghare took 1 wicket each. Earlier, after captain Gardner added 79 runs off 37 balls, Gujarat scored 201 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. She hit 3 fours and 8 sixes. #tatawpl
