*Gigi Ugulava, Others Released on Bail* Eight protesters detained during the February 2nd rally on Tbilisi’s Aghmashenebeli Highway have been released on bail today, a rare move by the regime that lets them go free while awaiting trial. During his trial, Gigi Ugulva, former Mayor of Tbilisi and one of the prisoners, addressed the system: “I want to ask a question to everyone present here, to the police officers. How long does the system plan to continue torturing people, beating people, and making people's lives miserable? This is not just a question—I hope that when you return home, you ask yourselves this question, or that your family members ask you. The second question: What is the purpose of all this? Is the goal for us to be isolated, cut off from the world, miserable, a backward country serving the completely insane and unimaginable dreams of one person? I don't think this is the dream you have for your children. How long must this continue? Surely, there must be a limit to this.”
