AHKAM AL-NISAʾ FIQH INTENSIVE Last weekend I was blessed to be able to complete the teaching of Amthalun Husna fi Tartib Ahkam al-Untha, a reordering and extended gloss on Ibn Nujaym’s (d. 970) section on women’s fiqh from his al-Ashbah wa al-Nazaʾir. The course was offered over multiple months and was attended by some thirty or so capable ʿalimat; we benefitted from studying the words of the fuqaha on various pertinent issues and then from the ensuing, nuanced discussions. I’m pleased to hear that the class reviews were very positive–the biggest criticism was that the text’s font was too small! Many thanks to the organisers for facilitating the course.
