"Empty Plates, Empty Eyes" In a world of plenty, where food is abound There are those who suffer, with empty plates around Their eyes, once bright, now dim with despair Their bellies, once full, now ache with hunger's snare In the streets of cities, in the villages so fair There are children crying, with no food to share Their mothers, once strong, now weak with worry and fear Their fathers, once proud, now broken, with no food to bring near The earth, so fertile, produces fruit and grain But the distribution's flawed, and the hungry remain The rich, they feast, on lavish meals and fine wine While the poor, they struggle, to survive on scraps that are mine Oh, the irony, of a world so unkind Where some have too much, and others, none to find But still we hope, for a brighter day When no one will suffer, and all will have enough to eat, come what may So let's join hands, and make a change Let's feed the hungry, and rearrange The way we live, the way we share So that everyone, everywhere, will have enough to spare.
