K J Somaiya Institute of Management recently conducted a workshop on the Circular Economy for select Plastic Manufacturer’s Association members. The session emphasised practical applications of circular economy in plastics manufacturing, compliance with sustainability regulations and addressing challenges in implementing circular economy. Facilitated by Prof. Swapan Kumar Ray, Professor of Practice - Sustainability & Circular Economy, Dr Satyendra Kumar Upadhyay, Assistant Professor - General Management, and Prof. Ravindra Baliga, Associate Professor - Operations and Supply Chain Management, K J Somaiya Institute of Management. The workshop was a collaborative effort with outreach spearheaded by Prof. Naimesh Tungare, Adjunct Faculty - Data Science & Technology, Prof. Swapan Kumar Ray, Dr Jitendra Nenavani, Assistant Professor - Operations and Supply Chain Management and Dr Vandana Tripathi, Assistant Professor - General Management, K J Somaiya Institute of Management. As part of the ongoing MSME research project, nine survey forms were collected to provide valuable insights. Additionally, the research team plans to explore the joint launch of a sustainability course in collaboration with AMTEC-AIPMA to drive sustainable practices in the plastics industry. Industry representatives, AMTEC students and other participants actively contributed to the event, demonstrating strong engagement.
