The Rapture is an event when Jesus is going to appear to catch away those who have placed their faith in Him (1 Thess 4:16-17). Soon after the Rapture there will be Great Tribulation for 7 years, the beast will be persecuting those who missed the Rapture for various reasons. Immediately after the Great Tribulation has ended there will be Christ's Second Advent. At the Rapture Christ will not come down to the earth, he will remain in the clouds but at the Second Advent, He will come down all the way to the Earth with His saints to destroy the Antichrist and begin 1000 years of peace and righteous rule on Earth. During that time, the righteous will be the heads of His government and will rule and reign with Him. The earth will be free from Satan's influence for 1000 years. For Satan will be bound and confined to the bottomless pit as Jesus Christ rules and reigns in His Kingdom here on planet Earth. This is called the Millennium rule of Christ. Blessed are those who believe in the Rapture, they will not miss it and they will not be tormented during the Great Tribulation period.
