The U.S. Air Force successfully completed the first flight of an F-16 Block 70 fighter jet equipped with the new Viper Shield electronic warfare system. The test, which took place at Edwards Air Force Base in California, involved a Block 70 F-16 of the Royal Bahraini Air Force. The pilot, Major Anthony Pipe from the 416th Flight Test Squadron, conducted the flight.
L3Harris Viper Shield is an all-digital electronic warfare suite designed to enhance the EW capabilities of international F-16 fleets. It is designed to provide radar threat detection and jamming responses to disrupt adversary targeting.
