The organizers of the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) have reiterated their commitment to a rigorous and transparent adjudication process, assuring stakeholders that only the best artistic works will be recognized. Speaking at a media briefing in Harare on Wednesday, National Arts Council of Zimbabwe Executive Director, Napoleon Nyanhi, addressed concerns about the selection process for nominees and winners. “A lot of assumptions have been made on how the NAMA nominees and winners are selected,” Nyanhi said. “The adjudication process is rigorous and transparent, and the process is designed to ensure that the best artistic works are recognized and rewarded.” He further explained that the process begins with entry and submission, emphasizing that, for the first time, submissions are open throughout the year.
