An Airforce of Zimbabwe pilot was killed when the jet trainer he was flying crashed in the Guinea Fowl area in Gweru. The victim, Air Lieutenant Nesbert Tambudza, was flying alone at the time of the crash, according to a statement from the Zimbabwe Defence Forces. The ZDF says Air Lieutenant Tambudza was flying as part of a jet flying conversion training course at the Josiah Tungamirai Airforce Base in Gweru, when he crashed the Karakoum-8 aircraft. It says the aircraft was extensively damaged from the crash, and investigations into the cause of the accident are being conducted.
