The event aimed to educate children and parents about the dangers of drug abuse, and it was a resounding success. Guest of honour was Reverend Ndaba with a rich short speech which left audience asking him for more. . Mr Chikomba from ZNORT delivers a long and educative speech. The event featured a 16km run from Katanga to Ward 14 by Norton Fitness Hub. Sarungano, the host master of ceremony, kept the audience engaged, while Junior Mayor Trish Nyamidzi delivered an inspiring speech, showcasing her intelligence and leadership skills. Anti-Drug Abuse Ambassador Nyanduri LMC added a creative touch with advocacy poetry, emphasizing the importance of avoiding drug use. The event also saw appearances by notable figures, including Member of Parliament for Norton Constituency Hon Richard Tsvangirayi and Councillor of Ward 14 Mugwagwa. But what made the event truly special was the active participation of children, who showcased their talents through speeches, dances, poems, singing, and drama, all centered around the theme of fighting against drugs and substance abuse. Young DJ Tavonga kept the crowd energized with his music, and everyone enjoyed the delicious biscuits provided by Zim Biscuits company to everyone. The event was a testament to the dedication of David Mascot Country School, its founder National Award Winner Getrude Mandizvidza, and its head, Mr. Mukovi, in promoting awareness and education about the dangers of drug abuse.
