The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that it will proceed with its mass polio vaccination campaign in Gaza this weekend. Two previous rounds in September and October 2024 successfully reached over 95% of the target population. This phase aims to vaccinate more than 591,000 children under 10 years old amid concerns that population movement during the ongoing ceasefire between Israel and Hamas could increase polio transmission.
