The blessed month has reached us and glad tidings to every Muslim who Allah showed mercy to be alive in this blessed month with sound heart and health. This is the month of mercy and forgiveness, and good deeds are multiplied in abundance.
Don’t put a burden on yourself by not taking advantage of this blessed month and seeking the pleasure of Allah سبحانه وتعالى
The prophet ﷺ said,
“When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of the heaven are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1899]
The gates of jannah are open and the gates of hellfire are closed so exert yourselves in pleasing Allah by reciting the Quran, taraweeh, dhikr, salawat, istighfar, dua and tahajjud. Indulge in these ibadah sincerely and Allah will not deny you.
Don’t let your many sins prevent you from the barakah of this month. This is the best time to change and be better beyond after Ramadan. No sin can precede over the mercy of Allah so increase your istighfar to expiate your bad deeds.
The prophet ﷺ said,
“The month of Ramadan has come, a blessed month in which Allah Almighty has obligated you to fast. In it the gates of the heavens are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, the devils are chained, and in it is a night that is better than a thousand months. Thus, whoever is deprived of its good is truly deprived.”
[Musnad Aḥmad 7148, Grade: Sahih]
Things to avoid in Ramadan:
Unnecessary social media like scrolling without a purpose and lower your gaze on these apps
Netflix is a waste of time. Every minute of Ramadan is important
Don’t engage with fitnah accounts who slander and accounts who post sins like music and Tabarruj
Useless conversations without the remembrance of Allah
Slander and and backbite
Watching sports since it has no benefits
Talking to opposite gender even on text
After Iftar is still Ramadan so don’t indulge in disobedience
Wasting time on frivolous things
Trolling and joking too much
Cut down on things that have no benefits
May Allah سبحانه وتعالى grant us success in Ramadan and beyond. آمين
