US govt is sending nearly all the global USAID workforce on leave by Friday. The announcement appears on the agency’s website, which has just come back online after being taken offline on Saturday. USAID employs around 10,000 people globally. Most US foreign aid goes through USAID, which spent $6.5 billion in Africa last year
