Saudi Ministry of Health Emphasises Meningitis Vaccine for Umrah Pilgrims
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has stressed the importance of receiving the meningitis vaccine for those planning to perform Umrah during Ramadan.
As part of its efforts to enhance preventive health measures and curb the spread of infectious diseases, the ministry recommends getting vaccinated at least 10 days before travel to ensure adequate immunity.
Individuals who have been vaccinated within the past five years do not require a booster dose, as the vaccine remains effective throughout this period.
The ministry also encouraged pilgrims to book an appointment through the Sehhaty app to receive the vaccine at designated adult vaccination clinics. It emphasized the importance of adhering to preventive measures for a safe and healthy Umrah experience.
This initiative aligns with the ministry’s broader efforts to safeguard the health of Umrah performers, promote health awareness, and develop an integrated healthcare system that enhances quality of life and medical services.
