*Earlier today, I met with the Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service (EKIRS), Mr. Olaniran Olatona, and his management team to address concerns regarding taxation in Ekiti State.* *_Let me state categorically that there is no imposition of multiple taxes or the introduction of new levies on our people. The significant growth in our revenue is not due to additional burdens on taxpayers but rather a result of blocking leakages, strengthening compliance, and deploying technology to enhance efficiency.*_ Our administration is committed to ensuring that every kobo collected is transparently and judiciously utilized for the collective development of our dear state. The recent agitation regarding taxation is misguided. Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration remains unwavering in its commitment to a fair, transparent, and progressive tax system that supports economic growth without stifling businesses or individuals.
