Media Statement from the Desk of the Founder and Patron of the Lwazi Mbambo Foundation Friday, 21 February 2025 The Lwazi Mbambo Foundation under its guiding principle of "Building Stronger Communities," is pleased to announce that its Patron will be in attendance at the Eastern Cape State of the Province Address (SOPA) today as Guest of ANC MPL, Hon. Pillai, the whip of the portfolio committees of Education & DRDAR. The address, delivered by the Honorable Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane, MPL, is themed "30 Years: A Commitment to Renewal and Service – The People Shall Govern." This occasion marks a pivotal moment in reflecting on the progress made over the past three decades and reaffirming our collective dedication to advancing democratic governance, socio-economic development and the empowerment of communities across the province. In the evening, the Patron will attend the Memorial Lecture and Gala Dinner in honor of the late Andile Tyibilika, hosted by the South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (SADTU) and deliver a message of support. Andile Tyibilika was a beacon of hope and a tireless advocate for educational equity and social justice. His untimely demise was a profound loss to the Eastern Cape and the nation at large. The Memorial Gala Dinner will feature keynote address by the Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Hon. Zolile Burns-Ncamashe. The Lwazi Mbambo Foundation stands in solidarity with SADTU and the broader community in commemorating the life of Andile Tyibilika. His legacy serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration, philanthropy and community-driven development in building a more equitable and prosperous society.
