The 2025 Public Finance Management Conference for Africa is officially underway! CPA Josephine Okui Ossiya, President of ICPAU, delivered powerful opening remarks, setting the stage for three days of impactful discussions under the theme: "Enhancing Public Finance in Africa: Progress & Prospects." Key Highlights from her speech: ✅ The Role of PAOs in PFM: PAOs are essential in building human capital to implement financial policies. Their inclusion in PFM dialogue is crucial. ✅ Accountability & Transparency: Uganda remains committed to strengthening public finance efficiency through IPSAS implementation & policy reforms. ✅ Amplifying Africa’s Voice in Standards Setting: African nations must actively participate in IPSAS developments to shape PFM standards tailored to our realities. ✅ ICPAU’s Commitment to PFM: Through annual PFM conferences, policy recommendations, and capacity-building initiatives, ICPAU continues to contribute to Africa’s public finance agenda.
