*The Narrow Path* _Daily devotion_ "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." - John 14:27 *The Inner Peace of Christ: Overcoming Life's Challenges with Confidence* "The peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." This scripture is telling us that the peace of Jesus is a passive understanding. The world will offer you peace in terms of monetary gain, but people might think that joy comes from having all the necessary resources to live on this earth. However, regardless of the wealth we can acquire, troubles and problems will never be eradicated; they'll always be there. But the ability to smile and rejoice in the midst of troubles reflects the inner peace that is within. Paul and Silas, when they were in prison, praised God despite being beaten and wounded. Their bodies were in pain, but regardless of the pain, they praised God. So, this scripture is telling us that sometimes we might feel pain, and we can be afflicted outside, but the ability to draw the inner peace that is within our hearts can help us overcome the pain that we feel outside. After Paul and Silas praised God, the gates of the prison were opened, and God did a marvelous thing by turning the guard of that prison to Christ, which became an addition for the kingdom of God. This story of Paul and Silas also tells us that we can actually command peace within us and be able to change the outside world by drawing the peace that is inside. So, Jesus is offering you that peace, regardless of the winds and problems that you're going to face outside your life. You need to draw your inspiration from the Spirit. Jesus was calm and fast asleep when the boat was about to sink. The disciples were terrified by the winds that were threatening their lives, but regardless of the outside forces, Jesus was said to be fast asleep because of the inner peace, knowing that God is in control. That is the peace I am leaving with you this morning. Jesus is saying to you, "Peace be unto you. I do not give you as the world gives it." The world is promising you a luxurious life, thinking that's real peace, but problems will never be eradicated. However, the ability to rejoice and praise God in the midst of problems is the real peace that you need to know. So, I declare that peace in your workplace. When things are not going well, you are going to be commanding results. You're going to be bringing that inner peace that is inside of you, controlling the outside world. Remember, life is spiritual. We don't see our problems from a physical perspective, but we see them from a spiritual perspective. The scripture is Jesus saying, "Do not be troubled, do not be afraid." It means that there are situations that are going to trouble your heart, and there are situations that are going to bring fear to your life. But you don't have to allow them to destroy your inner peace. Instead, there is the inner peace of Christ that is inside of you that is supposed to be controlling the outside forces. So, don't allow the outside forces to determine your inner peace, because God is in control. Just like Jesus, when he was fast asleep on the boat, and the wind was against them, just like Paul and Silas, when they praised God when they were in prison, let it be so unto you. God bless you.
