I am pleased to announce that I have successfully acquired funds to support a PhD student as part of our research to investigate sustainable maintenance approaches for achieving net zero energy efficiency in office buildings. This would not have been possible without the incredible support from our university The University of Auckland and The University of Auckland Business School , which is dedicated to nurturing early career researchers and fostering innovative approaches to pressing global challenges. This project seeks to bridge the gap between academics, industry, and policy development by investigating practical techniques that businesses may use to improve energy efficiency in their buildings. With the increasing drive for sustainability, it is critical to understand current processes and establish new techniques that can be expanded across the sector. Our research outcomes would also impact the industry, providing meaningful recommendations for organizations thinking to enhance their sustainable policies.
