Sastras sometimes resort to exemplary parables to explain certain cryptic aphorisms of the Vedas. These by their own virtue cannot stand as standards for a person's deportment but must be understood in the proper context of their Vedic moorings. Just as the absence of sunrise is catastrophical to life, these misunderstandings can lead to dire consequences.
True knowledge resulting from proper guidance as outlined in the Vedas is the remedy for such eventualities.
