*Biblical Principles of giving*
Everything done in this world, the Bible does provide the guidance of how to do it if it is good and how to forsake it if it is bad.
The book of Proverbs mentions that everyone loves a giver, and the book of Ecclesiastes speaks boldly that there is a time to give and a time to not. Now, in your time of giving it is true that everyone is going to like you but which guidelines do you look on while doing so? On which standard do you give upon?
Take heart, the Bible does provide the clear guidelines on how you are supposed to do so.
1. *God loves a cheerful giver.* Those who give freely. Those who give without external persuasion, but from within. _2 Cor 9:7, Exod 25:2_
2. *Loving God with all that you possess.* Using what you possess only in godly way. Making what you have accountable to God. Being God's accountant on what you possess. _Mk 12:30_
3. *Blessed is the hand that gives than the one that receives.* _Act 20.35._ Though what went around might come around, the Blessings here the giver is blessed with has nothing to do with the materials.
4. *Make it confidential.* But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. _Mt 6:3._ Do it in such way that even your closest friend will not know about it. Otherwise you give in vain.
Next time when giving, consider if:
- You are giving out from the love you love God,
- from the cheerful heart, and
- If you rejoice while doing so.
- If you are not being driven by impressing the audience.
Otherwise, what you are doing in giving, you labor in vain.
_Bless!_
