An Alabaster water clock (Clepsydra). The Clepsydra is an alabaster vessel with inner marks. It was filled with water which came out from an opening at the bottom of it in a specific amount so that the water level inside the vessel according to the marks indicates that a certain time has elapsed. Dates back to the reign of King Amenhotep III, The 18th Dynasty , The New Kingdom Period (ca. 1390–1352 BC). Dicovered in Karnak Temple Complex in 1904. Displayed in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo, Egypt. #nmec
