But he was then arrested & persecuted inhuman way by removing his nails n skin & pouring salt water on it, his tongue was snatched away from mouth, his eyes were destroyed by hot iron rod. Each time the King was asked to convert into Islam but the King refused till death. There was not a single home in Maharashtra; which was not hurt & which not decided to take revenge of the King Sambhaji’s persecution & killing and sacrifice. Marathas did that later. Even till today Marathas did not forget martyrdom of the King Sambhaji, it is a permanent wound on Maratha minds. Revenge was 100 times bigger by establishing Maratha rule on entire Hindusthan. It was not easy to resist Aurangzeb’s persecution. Had the King Sambhaji agreed for Conversion, then history would have been different. Entire Maratha kingdom would have lost its courage. King Sambhaji’s strength made Marathas so strong that success graph of Marathas touched the sky. Mughal rule murdered the King Sambhaji brutally and in reply Maratha threw away Mughal rule from Hindusthan & reestablished Hindutva as directed by the King Shivaji & for which King Sambhaji Bhosle sacrificed his life. Take a contrasting example of Indonesia. The king of Indonesia embraced Islam and whole of Indonesia is a Muslim country. Sambhaji Maharaj preferred death over embracing Islam and India remained a Hindu country. This fact does not go down well with so called third grade Marxist historians.
