While these laws may seem outdated, they point to a deeper truth, our need for purification and cleansing. According to this passage in Leviticus 15:11-21., if a woman has a discharge, she should be put apart for seven days, and anyone who touches her during this time will be unclean until evening. Anything she lies on or sits on during her period is also considered unclean. If anyone touches her bed, they must wash their clothes and bathe themselves in water and remain unclean until evening The laws of purification here emphasize the importance of holiness and separation. As we meditate on the word, let us reflect on spiritual purification just as the woman was required to wash and bathe to be clean. We all need spiritual purification through Jesus Christ. As His blood cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). The act of washing and bathing also symbolizes renewal and restoration. We can experience this same renewal through faith in Christ, who makes us a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
