Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Pilibhit has held five doctors accountable for medical negligence following the death of a woman from septicemia on December 5 last year. The fatal complication arose after a surgical sponge was left inside her abdomen during a hysterectomy. The district magistrate has forwarded the report to the Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) for further action, while the state medical administration has also been notified.
