A well established company is currently recruiting for a Welding Engineer / Welding Coordinator in Takoradi, Ghana Minimum Requirements: · Minimum educational qualification of B.Sc. in Mechanical or Materials Engineering · International Welding Engineer (IWE) diploma. Welding Inspector diploma (e.g. CSWIP, IWI) and NDT Level 2 certifications (MT, PT, UT, RT) are desirable. · Minimum 5 years of exp in a similar position in oil & gas, power or petrochemical. · Demonstration of adequate knowledge, experience and competence in welding technology, materials and their behavior during welding, design fundamentals of welded construction, as well as fabrication and inspection aspects, including knowledge of standards: o Familiarity with conventional welding processes: SMAW, SAW, GMAW, FCAW and SAW; o Familiarity with welding of austenitic, duplex and super duplex stainless steels, Ni-base CRA clad materials, as well as welding of dissimilar materials. o Understanding of and ability to interpret common welding, NDT and application standards (e.g. ASME IX, AWS D1.1, ISO 15614-1, ISO 9606-1, ASME B31.3, EEMUA 158, NORSOK M-601, etc.) o Familiarity with NDT methods (VT, MT, PT, RT, UT). o Knowledge of mechanical and metallurgical testing. · Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. · Fluent written and spoken English. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Computer literate and numerate. Responsibilities: · Coordinate all welding activities in accordance with ISO 3834-2 and ISO 14731. · Carry out review of requirements and technical reviews for welding and NDT activities. · Perform weldability analyses, selection of welding processes, welding consumables and parameters. · Develop and organize qualification of welding procedures. Select and allocate welding procedures to particular weldments. · Organize and manage welder qualifications. · Assist with requisition, production planning, preparation and transmittal of work instructions and welding documentation to the fabrication area.
