For several years, Sisi had served faithfully as an usher. She greeted people with warm smiles, guided them to their seats, and ensured the service flowed smoothly. It felt like home until the stirring began. A quiet nudge. A whisper in her heart. A sense that her time in this role was ending. But why? She loved serving. She hadn’t received any clear direction from the Holy Spirit, so she stayed. Then came an invitation. A friend asked her to attend a Christian forum. It was nothing extravagant, just a gathering of believers sharing testimonies and encouragement. She wasn’t sure why, but she felt led to go. As she sat, listening, worshipping, waiting, the nudge happened again. A very clear voice. Sisi’s heart pounded. She glanced around, but no one else reacted. Had she imagined it? No. She knew the Holy Spirit had spoken. It didn’t make sense. Move where? Move how? She had no answers, only faith. So, she obeyed. She stepped down from her ushering duties, unsure of what lay ahead. And then came the questions. “But why? You’re so good at this.” “Did something happen?” “Are you sure God told you to leave?” She had no explanation that satisfied them. She only had obedience. Weeks passed. Then, an unexpected door opened. An opportunity to serve in a different capacity, one she had never considered. A place where her gifts could be used in ways she never imagined. In that moment, she realized obedience doesn’t always come with full understanding, but grace always meets those who follow God’s lead. *Song: Oceans by Hillsong United, Taya*
