Us stocks closed higher in a volatile session as a slew of earnings hit ground on Wall Street with mixed performances from heavyweights like Tesla, Meta and MSFT. Dow gained 0.38%, S&P gained 0.53% and Nasdaq closed 0.25% higher. The Small cap Russell 2000 gained the most adding 1.07%. USD index traded higher near 108.14, 10 year remained flat at 4.52% and cboe vix closed lower at 15.84. Crude futures rose a bit as equities across the globe rallied indicating some risk-on trade. WTI moved above 73.25, Brent above 77. Indian markets closed higher for the third day running led by BFSI names, stocks remained volatile as January series came to close. Sensex gained 227 points and Nifty added 86 points to close at 23250. *Strong global equity cues, especially from Europe where ECB rate cut helped indices to trade at new highs and countdown to budget may shape trade on Dalal Street.
