US markets were closed for trade observing President's day. European stocks closed at fresh all time highs outperforming Wall Street for the first time in a decade led by Aerospace and Defence names, the hopes of higher defence spend helping the stocks.
Crude futures traded steady with small upward bias as Wall Street observed President's day. WTI traded above 71.25, Brent above 75.30.
Indian markets closed margainally higher amidst volatilty as stocks remained vulnerable to FPI outflows. Pharma, Metals and Financials helped Sensex to close 58 points higher to close just below 76000 and Nifty added 30 points to close above 22950.
*Strong cues from European and Asian markets, some bargain hunting at lower levels may help stocks gain some ground on Dalal Street. Participants may continue to look for an opportunity in individual names that have delivered strong earnings and have seen decent pullback in last few weeks.*
