Dua is so powerful, Allah could really give it to you without you even asking. So why do we still need to make Dua if He says that He will answer every Dua anyways? Because He wants to make you feel loved. He listened and He gave it to you because you kept making that Dua. He could give it as He willed even if you didn't ask, but still He inspired you to ask so He could give it just because you asked for it. Even though He hadn't written it, He still decides to give it. So why do you think He has abandoned you? And who are you running to?
