A. Anyone above 13 years old should give the above amount “Zecher Lemachatzit Hashekel”. Some hold the obligation is only for those older than 20. It’s appropriate to be stringent like the first opinion. B. Women should also give “Zecher Lemachatzit Hashekel”. It’s appropriate to also give on behalf of children and some give on behalf of a fetus as well. C. If one is struggling financially then he can give the above amount on his own behalf and then give as much as he is capable on behalf of the rest of his family. D.
