Saturday 15 February 2025 NWCFL Premier Division Bury 2-1 West West fell to defeat against the league-leaders at Gigg Lane. A quiet first half followed a minute's applause to honour the passing of West goalkeeping coach Stephen Piggott, and he would have been proud of the save made by Ollie Martin to deny Bury from point-blank range just before the interval. Jordan Lazenbury broke the deadlock just after the restart, but the lead was shortlived as Bury quickly equalised. The Shakers then won it from the penalty spot with 15 minutes left to kill off a tired West side. It was a good effort against strong opposition, and the afternoon will be remembered for the noise created by over 400 travelling West fans who did the club proud throughout. 📸 @nashmall
