National Science Day- 28th February. Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman (7 November 1888 – 21 November 1970) was famous Indian physicist. He won the 1930 Nobel Prize for Physics for his outstanding work in the field of light scattering. He discovered that when light pass through a transparent material, some of the deflected light changes its wavelength. This phenomenon is known as Raman scattering (Raman effect).
