We are honoured to welcome Justice Janak De Silva, Judge of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest for Trinity College Kandy’s Prize Giving 2024, to be held on Friday, 14th February 2025 at the Main Hall. An esteemed Old Trinitian, Justice De Silva had an illustrious school career, excelling in hockey, chess, cricket, athletics, drama, and debating, while also serving as a School Prefect and English Editor of the College Magazine. He pursued law at Sri Lanka Law College, earning Class I Honours, before obtaining a BCL from Oxford and an LL.M from University College London. He was elected as an Honorary Bencher of Gray's Inn, London and is only the second judge from Sri Lanka to be conferred with this honour. With an impressive legal career spanning roles at the Attorney-General’s Department, judicial leadership, and international recognition, he is one of the youngest judges appointed to the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
