Up until now, we have had limited ability to tow such vehicles, confined to where a large flatbed truck can pull in front of the vehicle causing the obstruction, and then hoist the vehicle onto the flatbed. While conducting law enforcement duties between Swartkoppies, R554, Garfield, Lincoln and Ascott Road, Officers conducted inspections for compliance of motorcycles operating as delivery vehicles in the Alberton area. Officers stopped and inspected twelve (12) Big boy motorcycles, upon inspection Officers found the said vehicles operating without license discs, undocumented foreign nationals’ drivers operating with fraudulent licences and without work permits or visa. The EMPD will leave no stone unturned to ensure road users adhere to the rules of the road and meet the requirements of the National Road Traffic Act 93/1996.... ■North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management Convenes Provincial Transport Forum https://www.arrivealive.co.za/news.aspx?s=1&i=71003&page=north-west-department-of-community-safety-and-transport-management-convenes-provincial-transport-forum Directorate of Transport Planning and Policy Development under the Chief Directorate of Transport Operations hosted the 4th quarter Provincial Transport Forum in the Bojanala platinum District chaired by the acting Director Mr Segopotso Molotsi. This quarterly forum brings together departmental officials, municipal representatives, and various stakeholders to discuss and strategize on pressing transport issues affecting the province. This is in line with the requirements of the National Land Transport Act (NLTA). The forum provides a platform that allows municipalities and all transport stakeholders to delibarate and share ideas. Mr Jomo Moiloa, of the hosting city in the Bojanala District, welcomed all officials to the forum and wished everyone a productive day.
