According to Trump’s order, this will halt aid to South Africa and allow for the admission and resettlement of Afrikaners in the United States through the US Refugee Admissions Program. It states that Afrikaners in South Africa are victims of unjust racial discrimination. The order accuses South Africa of having relations with Iran which it says runs against America’s foreign policy. Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has said Donald Trump was elected to govern the United States, not to “rule the world.” The Brazilian president criticised the America for promoting itself as “a symbol of democracy and ‘sheriff’ of the world,” describing Trump’s statements on the occupation of certain countries and territories as “provocations.”
