Additionally, there is a sagging manhole located between Reitz and Paul Kruger Street, which poses a safety risk. To ensure the safety of motorists, one lane of Voortrekker Street will be closed in the direction toward Ashton. The sewer pipeline is approximately 3.5 meters deep, making maintenance work challenging. The Civil Engineering Department is currently investigating the issue. The first phase of the investigation will involve a camera inspection of the sewer pipeline. Once more information is obtained regarding the status of the pipeline, a decision can be made on potential solutions to address the problem.
