Martin Vermaak Attorneys, a premier South African Divorce, Family Law, and Commercial Litigation Practice, is expanding our dynamic team within our Sandton Head Office. As part of this role, consultations will also occur at some of our other local branch offices, including Pretoria, as required. The successful candidate should be prepared to travel when necessary to meet with clients and provide legal services across our nationwide network. We are seeking a self-motivated and independent attorney who is passionate about divorce, family law, and commercial litigation and is eager to contribute to the growth of our Sandton Head Office. This position offers an opportunity to work autonomously while being an integral part of our highly skilled team. Key Responsibilities: - Manage various legal matters focusing on Divorce and Family Law, as well as Commercial Litigation. - Represent the firm in Courts across South Africa, including the High Court. - Provide exceptional client service and maintain the firm’s high standards of excellence. Qualifications and Skills: - Admitted Attorney with at least 3- 6 years post-admission experience. - Right of Appearance in the High Court (mandatory) and willingness to exercise this right. - Experience in Commercial Litigation, including drafting contracts, resolving disputes, and handling business-related matters. - Litigation experience in Domestic Violence Court, Maintenance Court, Regional Court, and High Court (advantageous). - Proficiency in the MS Office Suite. - Excellent written and spoken English skills, but also bilingual in Afrikaans. - Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities. - Problem-solving and adaptability skills. - A client-focused, professional, and empathetic approach. Remuneration: R22,000 - R27 000 per month depending on experience.
