Over the past few weeks, the words of Zechariah 7 (4-12) keep coming to mind: _Then the word of the Lord Almighty came to me: “Ask all the people of the land and the priests, ‘When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months for the past seventy years, was it really for me that you fasted? And when you were eating and drinking, were you not just feasting for yourselves? Are these not the words the Lord proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem and its surrounding towns were at rest and prosperous, and the Negev and the western foothills were settled?’”_ _And the word of the Lord came again to Zechariah: “This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.’ “But they refused to pay attention; stubbornly they turned their backs and covered their ears. They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that the Lord Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the Lord Almighty was very angry._ I am a prayer team leader at an event for a friend who has a worship ministry. While preparing for the event, I had a dream. In that dream, I walked into the room where the event was and the room was empty. There were not even any chairs in the room and the stage was empty. There was a round table next to the stage with a foreign woman at the table. The Holy Spirit invited me to the table. I saw how beautiful this woman was, but also that she did not really know where she was. There was an emptiness in her, a purposelessness. Then I woke up. This morning I asked the Lord what He wanted to say and He said this: ‘My love for the unreached is great. My heart burns for them. You rejoice over the many Christian ministries and festivals in your country, but you forget the one on your street who does not know Me. _I do not care about your festivals if it does not move your heart towards the lost!_ You praise Me here and walk away. And when you see a foreigner begging in the street, you spit on the ground. He is begging for your love, accaptation and the hope you carry. But I have heard your words and I know your thoughts. Do you not know that it is I who sent the strangers to your borders? So that you could show them My goodness and mercy; so that you could share from your wealth. But you locked them up and left them to their fate. Too busy with your self-righteous lifestyle. Afraid that you will have to give up a meter of your half-empty castles. Do you no longer feel My heart? Have you stored judgment in your heart instead of mercy? Repent of your pride! Repent of your judgmental way of thinking. Repent and ask Me to show you My heart for the people who have come from far away and are now your neighbors. I ask you to love that one, the one in your neighborhood. Just the one in front of you.’ The message of this dream was so similar to the words of Zechariah. The morning I received the Word of God about this dream and discussed it with my friend, I noticed that the Lord also confronted me with my lifestyle. Who do I really live for? Who have I looked after? I had to cry and noticed that the Holy Spirit shook me and set me deeper on fire for the unreached. He had already spoken about countries in the past weeks, but that is for later. For now, God also showed people, just 'around the corner' for whom I may intercede and pray for contact with them! And many times in my life I have spoken these words from Isaiah 6 to God, but now again and with a deeper awareness of His heart and love for those who do not yet know Him. _Then I heard the voice of the Lord. He said: Whom shall I send? Who will go for us? Then I said: Here I am, send me._ Do you also speak them to God? You may not know how to do it, but God will help you! _Here I am, Lord, send me._
