These desires weren’t just physical; they also included selfish ambitions, pride, greed, anger, and sinful cravings. The world promotes the idea of "following your heart," but Scripture reminds us that the heart, apart from Christ, is deceitful and leads to destruction (Jeremiah 17:9). Paul’s words in Ephesians 2:3 remind us of who we were before salvation—lost, ruled by sin, and under God’s judgment. But thank God for His grace! Through Jesus Christ, we have been redeemed, and we no longer have to be controlled by the desires of our flesh.
