Thanks to the Embassy of Sweden in Harare /SIDA and @Oxfam in Zimbabwe , we have provided 6,155 beneficiaries in Buhera District (Wards 15, 17, 19, 24, 25, 28, and 30) with vital agricultural inputs—helping families combat the devastating effects of the El Niño-induced drought.
By distributing small grain seeds like Sorghum (Marcia), Pearl Millet (Okashana), and Finger Millet (Chikumbo)—alongside Cow Peas (CBC3), Sunflower (Jesa/Peredovic), sugar beans, maize, and essential fertilizers—we are ensuring drought-prone communities have access to more resilient and nutritious food sources.
This effort is part of the Climate Adaptation for Rural Livelihoods 2 (CARL) Crisis Modifier Program, working hand in hand with the Government of Zimbabwe’s Department of Social Development.
🌱 Why small grains? These traditional crops are naturally drought-tolerant, require less water, and offer a sustainable solution to food insecurity—empowering communities to withstand climate shocks and secure their future.
Together, we are strengthening food security and fostering resilience in Zimbabwe’s rural communities. 💪🏽🌾
