African Action Congress Osun State Chapter Press Statement February 23, 2025 The African Action Congress (AAC), Osun State, under the leadership of Alabi Seun strongly condemns the blatant disregard for democratic principles displayed by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) during yesterday's local government election in Osun State. The PDP, in collusion with the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) chairman, has committed a egregious act of electoral malpractice. In most polling units, election materials were not provided, while in others, OSIEC officials arrived with pre-filled ballots and fabricated results. Our investigation reveals that on February 19, the PDP had already finalized plans to manipulate the election outcome. Sensitive materials were secretly moved to the country home of Governor Ademola Adeleke, where voting and result compilation took place. Yesterday's announcement was merely a formality. As a party committed to upholding true democracy and the rule of law, we will not tolerate this brazen assault on our democratic institutions.
