He created everything, and nothing exists that He didn't create. Everything belongs to Him. We are from God; He made us. He had a plan for us, and in His plan, He determined to give us eternal life so that we would be more than mere creatures. He gave us eternal life to lift us into His class of being. That's what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17: If any man be in Jesus Christ, he is a new creature. If you're born again, it means you're in Jesus Christ, and if you're in Jesus Christ, you're a new creature, a new kind of man, a new type of being, in God's class of being*.
