Under the theme "Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future," the Executive Mayor, Cllr Freda Nkondo, handed over Personal Protective Equipments (PPE'S) to the Adopt a River workers in the Collins Chabane Local Municipality. This initiative highlights the importance of wetlands, and Vhembe District has expressed its support and appreciation for the efforts of Adopt a River in both the district and the Collins Chabane Local Municipality. Adopt a River has about 1000 volunteer workers who serve various villages within Collins Chabane Local Municipality. These volunteers work diligently to maintain cleanliness and safeguard the environment by ensuring that rivers are kept clean, preventing water pollution, and collecting waste such as pampers and plastics. Their actions play a significant role in reducing the spread of disease. The Executive Mayor expressed her appreciation, stating, "As a district, we saw a need to raise awareness by providing these workers with the necessary PPE's to protect them from potenti
