The opening ceremony of Pakistan Navy’s maritime exercise Sea Guard 2025 was held in Karachi, bringing together key national stakeholders to enhance maritime security coordination. The event was attended by representatives from the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, Pakistan Coast Guards, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Customs, Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Port Qasim Authority, and the FIA. In addition to government institutions, representatives from civil organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the fishing community were also present. During the ceremony, participants were briefed on the objectives of the exercise and the ongoing efforts of the Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Center (JMICC) in strengthening maritime security. The Pakistan Navy expressed gratitude to over 50 national stakeholders for their participation in the initiative. Speaking at the event, Commander Coast highlighted the Pakistan Navy’s unwavering readiness to counter both traditional and non-traditional threats in the maritime domain. He emphasized that Exercise Sea Guard 2025 demonstrates Pakistan Navy’s commitment to curbing drug trafficking, arms smuggling, human trafficking, and illegal fishing along the country’s maritime borders.
