presidential-war-veterans-fund-comes-to-manicaland _On the fast lane to 2030 by Maxwell Haitengeswinyika Teedzai_ *The Presidential War Veterans Fund now in Manicaland: A Commitment to Our Heroes!* | Sat Feb 15, 2025 ```In a bold move to uplift the war veterans of the Great Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr Tempter Paul Tungwarara, the Presidential Investment Advisor to the UAE — United Arab Emirates is at Mukwini Shops, Ward 13, Rusape in Makoni West today to launch the US$1.5 million Presidential War Veterans Fund. He is expected to be accompanied by Ruling Revolutionary ZANU PF Party Provincial Chair for Manicaland, Cde Tawanda Mukodza; Political Commissar and MP for Makoni South, Cde Albert Nyakuedzwa; Minister of State in charge of Provincial Affairs and Devolution and MP for Mutasa South, Adv Misheck Mugadza; War Veterans Party National Chair, Cde Douglas Mahiya; Senator Monica Mavhunga, Minister of War Veterans of the Liberation Struggle; and host Hon Jenfan Muswere, Minister of Information and Publicity and MP for Makoni West. This initiative comes at a crucial time when the plight of our liberation fighters has long been neglected. Additionally, today marks the launch of the Presidential War Vets Borehole Drilling Scheme. This initiative further shows the commitment to comprehensively address the needs of our war veterans. Despite the barrage of media criticism, the Presidential War Veterans Fund aims to tackle the welfare issues faced by those who sacrificed so much for our freedom from colonial oppression. For years, War Veterans have raised their voices, seeking acknowledgment and support for their contributions to our Nation’s history. The establishment of this Fund represents a shift towards meeting those long-standing grievances. With over 30,000 surviving liberation fighters, the allocation of at least US$150,000 to each of the country's 10 Provinces is a step in the right direction. While the amount may seem modest, it is a tangible commitment from HE President Dr ED Mnangagwa to improve the lives of those who fought for our Liberation. The essence of this initiative lies in its innovative approach. The Fund operates on a revolving loan model, providing interest-free loans to beneficiaries. This mechanism ensures immediate assistance and promotes sustainability, allowing the Fund to support future generations of War Veterans. This is not just another promise; it is a proactive measure designed to deliver real results for our heroes. President Mnangagwa’s dedication to the welfare of War Veterans reflects his deep-seated commitment to the total liberation and economic emancipation of every Zimbabwean. His Devolution Policy aims to elevate all citizens into the UMIS—Upper-Middle-Income-Society by 2030, ensuring that no one and no place is left behind. This includes Zimbabweans in the diaspora, emphasizing a holistic approach to National development. Furthermore, the allocation of urban land for War Veterans, as announced by Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere, is a groundbreaking step that will empower these heroes to establish homes and engage in entrepreneurial ventures. This initiative provides security and serves as collateral, reinforcing the President's commitment to their welfare. Critics may question the timing and execution of these programs, but the urgency to support our War Veterans cannot be overstated. They have endured years of neglect, and it is time we rectify this injustice. The President has made it clear: this initiative must be implemented without delay. The jubilant atmosphere among the War Veterans across the Provinces is a clear indication of the hope and optimism this Fund has sparked. The launch of the Presidential War Veterans Fund, alongside the Borehole Drilling Scheme today, is a defining moment for the Great Republic of Zimbabwe. It reflects the good heart of President Mnangagwa, who remains steadfast in his mission to honor and support those who fought for our freedom. As we move forward, let us unite in our commitment to uplift our war veterans and ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten. The UAE is the Great Republic of Zimbabwe’s second largest trading partner. While in Addis Ababa yesterday, President Mnangagwa met HE Sheik Shakh Boot Al Nahyan of the UAE, reaffirming their strong bilateral ties. The Great Republic of Zimbabwe and the UAE are working on a Free Trade Agreement, and President Mnangagwa has since accepted an invitation for a State Visit to the UAE to further deepen cooperation between the two trading partners.``` #edmylifepresident #thegreatrepublicofzimbabwe #uae #tradeandinvestment #africanunion #sadc #warveteransfund #supportourheroes #thegreatrepublicofzimbabweprosperity
