In his address, President Mnangagwa expressed, “On behalf of the people of (the Great Republic of) Zimbabwe, I extend my deepest condolences to the Nujoma family, the Government, and the people of (the Great Republic of) Namibia. May his soul rest in eternal peace.” He acknowledged that Dr Nujoma passed away close to midnight on February 8, 2025, marking a profound loss for the Southern African Region. The President shot a light at Dr Nujoma as a brave Leader who played a key role in the Great Republic of Namibia's Independence. He also noted Dr Nujoma's support for the Great Republic of Zimbabwe during difficult times, emphasizing that their struggles were interconnected. President Mnangagwa stated, “Dr. Nujoma took our struggle as his own and stood by us when we faced great challenges.” He reminded everyone that Dr Nujoma’s legacy is important for fostering unity and independence in the Great Continent of Africa. The President encouraged the people of the Great Republic of Namibia to come together in this time of mourning. He emphasized that unity is vital in honoring Dr Nujoma's memory and continuing his work for the Region. Meanwhile President Mnangagwa has since called on all African Nations to reflect on Dr Nujoma’s contributions and to work towards the ideals he fought for.
