Always be honest when you have made a mistake, and always stand your ground when you believe you have done nothing wrong.
Here are two different scenarios on Upwork:
1. One person's account got suspended because multiple people were using it (the owner and a bidder). I advised the individual to be upfront with Upwork, admit that this was indeed the case, and inform them that he would create an agency and add the bidder to the account so that the bidder could use his own profile for bidding. Their account got unsuspended.
2. Another person received a warning because Upwork believed he had shared his contact information with a potential client before a contract, even though that wasn’t the case. I told him to email Upwork and explain that they had misunderstood the context of his message. This clarification was crucial because if the issue had occurred again—whether intentionally or unintentionally—his account could have been suspended. He sent the message explaining the context to Upwork, and they responded with an apology.
