*BIRTHDAY DREAMS II.* _Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. (Colossians 1:9 MSG)_ Good evening my friend. Something else that comes to mind thinking about the story of that man and his wife's birthday dream is that just like a person can get better at understanding the needs, aspirations and desires of their partner, it is possible for us to grow and get better in our ability to discern God's will and to understand what He is calling us to do. Writing to his spiritual son, Apostle Paul tells Timothy to _"be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress." (1 Timothy 4:15 NIV)_ So, God expects us to make progress in our walk with Him. He has given us various ministry gifts in the church to equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. What this means is that teachability is critical to our growth in our relationship with God. The way that that man's relationship with his wife would get better is for him to recognise that he has not correctly interpreted what his wife was telling him and to seek to do better. And I think that is how we must respond in our walk with God as well. We must be able to recognise when we have not correctly discerned God's Will and be humble to enough to be taught by the Holy Spirit until we get it right. We may not always fully understand what God is saying, and sometimes we may misinterpret what we have heard. However, the key is that we are teachable. Like Paul told Timothy, we should continue to be diligent in obedience, following God's gentle leading and everyone will eventually see our progress. *Pray by faith with me thus:* "Lord, help me to grow in my relationship with you through faith and patience." Amen. *Keypoint:* Our commitment to growth in our walk with the Lord shines through in our ability to correctly discern good and evil. _______________ #justpurposedaily ©AimPurpose IfeOluwa 🗓 February 4, 2025 https://bit.ly/hi-aimpurpose
